This Power Turbine Module was input to a GE Overhaul Shop for refurbishment on the 23rd June 2000 as part of a complete engine. The engine was removed due to low power and the PTM work scope comprised of a full strip of the PT Rotor assembly; a full strip of the Turbine case and Clean, Inspection & NDT to the level of disassembly. The No.5 Carbon Seal was also refurbished as standard.
The module accumulated 501 hours after its major shop visit, and was then placed in storage as surplus to requirements until its recent shop visit in January 2010 to strip and inspect the mainline bearings i.a.w the requirements of the maintenance manual SEI 576.
The module passed test satisfactorily i.a.w the shop manual SEI 578 and is offered with a dual release (FAA 8130 & EASA Form One). The Module is currently preserved and stored i.a.w the requirements SEI 576.
This PT Module is an ideal candidate as spare for any operator due to its low operating time since refurbishment, and has a high Cycle life remaining on the life limited components. The cycle life remaining on the rotating parts would give the average Turboprop operator over 3.5
years worth of operation based on 225 Hrs monthly utilisation.
