As the exclusive distributor, C&L Aviation Group will provide operators worldwide with access to the upgraded DU-875
NG solution
BANGOR, Maine – C&L Aviation Group is pleased to announce a partnership with ScioTeq for the sales and Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) development of the DU-875 NG Light display for Cessna Excel, Encore, Ultra, and Bravo aircraft, as well as the Embraer ERJ 135/145.
C&L is currently developing the STC, allowing operators to conveniently upgrade from legacy Honeywell DU-870 CRT displays. The DU-875 NG Light is a drop-in replacement that offers reduced power consumption and significant weight savings while maintaining compatibility with the existing cockpit configuration.
These new units offer a substantially improved mean time between failures (MTBF) compared to the legacy DU-870 displays currently installed on these aircraft, helping operators improve reliability, reduce maintenance requirements, and lower overall operating costs.
“Through this partnership with ScioTeq, C&L continues to deliver innovative and reliable solutions that support operators in avoiding obsolescence,” said Chris Kilgour, CEO of C&L Aviation Group. “Many operators have been searching for a cost-effective replacement for the aging DU-870 display, which faces increasing supportability challenges. Until now, there has not been a viable, safe alternative available. Our goal is to make these upgrades accessible, reliable, and as cost-effective as possible.”
Operators can expect substantial operational benefits with minimal downtime, no requirement for additional pilot training, and continued use of legacy applications including PFD, MFD, and EICAS symbology.
“The DU-875 NG Light gives operators a reliable, cost-effective path to address DU-870 obsolescence with a plug-and-play solution backed by ScioTeq’s proven avionics display expertise,” said Diederik Vandorpe, Co-CEO of ScioTeq.

ScioTeq, the OEM of the DU-875 and official Honeywell partner for their Primus Elite display upgrade, has designed the DU-875 NG Light to provide the lowest SWAP (size, weight, and power) and cost. ScioTeq has retained the right to quote and sell these units for the Cessna Excel, Encore, Ultra, Bravo, and Embraer ERJ 135/145 aircraft. The unit features a 7”x5” LCD screen with 1024×768 resolution (XGA), operates at just 34W (compared to 138W in the DU-870), and weighs 7kg (15.4 lbs.). It is convection-cooled (no fans), offers a calculated MTBF of 8,800 hours (MIL-HDBK-217F), and is available in both black and gray bezel variants. It is also compatible with all legacy DU-870 keyboards and includes a plain bezel keyboard in the baseline version. Additionally, the DU-875 NG Light is FAA & EASA (E)TSO C113b Certified to be installed once the STC is completed.
