A breakthrough in aviation hospitality
BANGOR, Maine – C&L Aviation Group is building the first-ever, state-of-the-art, 3-level parking garage for airplanes. C&L broke ground in September of 2022 and is slated to complete the project by the end of 2023. The aircraft parking garage fulfills a need for private aircraft owners looking to park their jets while visiting the Bangor and coastal Maine regions.
“We are excited to be offering this service and taking aviation hospitality to the next level up,” said Chris Kilgour, CEO of C&L Aviation Group. “Someone had to break ground on the new frontiers of aviation. And we are well on our way to breaking it.”
The aircraft parking garage will be conveniently located at C&L’s 200,000 sq. ft. Bangor, Maine headquarters, adjacent to the Bangor International Airport. The garage has been one of C&L’s many building projects since the start of the pandemic. Last summer, C&L completed construction on their 12,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art Aircraft Refurbishment Facility. In addition to interior refurbishment, C&L also provides parts support, heavy maintenance, and paint for corporate and regional aircraft at their Bangor campus.
The aircraft parking garage will initially be self-service, but C&L plans to offer valet services in the future, where the valets will have Aircraft Taxi Certification to move and park the airplanes for owners. The self-service kiosk accepts cash and credit. “To some, a 3-story airplane garage may seem far-fetched,” Kilgour adds. “I say that’s only because you didn’t think of it first.”
